The Holy Spirit was sent by Jesus to take his place among his disciples. He is the promised in-dweller for all who make Jesus their own. The Spirit is with the Christian. Is the Christian with the Spirit? The indwelling is powerful but the Spirit is also our leader. He leads us to fountains of love. Like sheep follow their shepherd so we must follow the Holy Spirit who takes the role of our shepherd.

Romans 8 has a lot to say about the Holy Spirit and the Christian. Paul makes it clear that if we are led by the Spirit then we are children of God. To be a child of God is to be an heir of all that God has in his kingdom. God is love, and as his children we are recipients of that love. The love of God knows no bounds, like a fountain, it continually gushes up and over.

If the Holy Spirit is leading you, you should never feel unloved. You are the most loved person in the world. So loved that God left heaven and came to earth for you. So loved that God sent his only Son to die for you. So loved that the Son took every sin you ever committed and nailed them to a cross. So loved that the Son stands before God making intercession for you. So loved that the Son is preparing a home with him for you to live in. So loved that the Son is going to take you to that home and live with you forever.

Jesus was the perfect Valentine from the perfect lover and is renewed in your heart through the Holy Spirit over and over. Want true love? follow the Spirit.
