Ignoring the Wonderful Story

One thing that has not changed a great deal over the ages is the proclivity of mankind to ignore the love of God and its subsequent grace. Again and again the Bible relates the unwillingness of the human race to obey God and receive His blessings. While the love of God has the capacity to bring salvation, the ignoring of that love brings the certainty of destruction.

Three prime examples we read about in the Bible are the flood in Genesis, the utter destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, and the Babylon captivity. There are of course others and you may have a favorite. These are enough to prove the point, however. The point is that the love of God is not helpful to those who reject it. To refuse God’s love is to lose the opportunity of salvation.

God is love and He manifested that love in the personal appearance of Jesus, the Christ. Jesus is God’s means of saving the world and those who accept that gift of love will find salvation. Those who reject that gift of love will find damnation. Noah was righteous, Lot was righteous, and the remnant in Israel was righteous.

Task for Today: Do not assume that because God loves the world and proved it by coming to earth that you have no responsibility and will be saved regardless of what your reaction to that love is.
