Chapter 4, Verse 16 “As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.”

What makes their boasting so arrogant? Their ignorance of the future is a good place to start. Arrogance and ignorance are not a good combination. When we humans start planning the future we have very little evidence to base our planning on. Our bodies and our world are complicated beyond understanding. Trying to predict anything, whether personal or worldwide is nothing short of guess work. We can only boast about what we will do in defiance of our ignorance while embracing our arrogance.

Task for Today: Accept the fact today about who is in control of the universe and thus you personally. Plan all you want to but be sure your plan is based on God’s will being done since it will be whether we like it or not. To boast and deny God His sovereignty is to deny God and that is evil.
