Comments on James

Chapter 4, Verse 15 “Instead you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.’”

Instead of saying what we are going to do, we need to say what we want to do and will do if God permits. Notice that James not only includes plans for profit and trips abroad but our very lives themselves. If the Lord wills we will live; this is the truth of our lives. We need to understand that before we plan what we are going to do with our lives, we need to understand that our next breath is God dependent.

Task for Today: Stop your independent thinking today. You are not your own for you have been bought with a price but beyond that you are a created being who has absolutely no control over anything. It must be all God in your life today. Start by thanking Him for the breath of life today and the promise of life at the end of time.
