Habakkuk
Habakkuk 1:2 “O LORD, how long shall I cry for help, and you will not hear? Or cry to you ‘Violence!’ and you will not save?”
Ever feel like Habakkuk? You’ve cried to God for help but you failed to hear a response? Habakkuk was sure God was ignoring him. Often, Christians today feel the same way. They pray for a thing to happen and when they see no evidence they feel God is not listening to them. Habakkuk was wrong of course and so are all who think God is ignoring them. God is constantly at work in the world, especially in the lives of His people. The fact that we don’t see it or it doesn’t take the shape we want is not a sign that God is ignoring us.
God told Habakkuk that he (Habakkuk) would be astounded at what was going on without Habakkuk’s knowledge. So wonderful are God’s works that all of us Habakkuk’s would be blown away if we knew God’s plans and purposes. God is in charge of the Chaldeans of the world and He will use them or whoever He chooses to do His bidding. God works for His people and if you belong to God you can stop wondering if God is paying attention to you. What He is doing for you is a wonder and an astonishment.
Task for Today: Claim the right and power of prayer. God listens and acts. You may not personally see the wonder or be astounded but trust that it is there. Today, believe that whatever you ask God about He will listen and He does save. Not according you your plan but according to His.
