“For land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated receives a blessing from God.”
The writer changes his example somewhat. We now see the comparison of creation and mankind. The land that is faithful to its calling and produces useful crops to benefit others is blessed by God. That which fulfills God’s purpose is always blessed by Him. This would include His children who have been given a project of their own. Those who are bringing positive results to the kingdom will be blessed. Those who deny their calling wind up without a blessing and in a place where no blessings can be given.
Notice how it works. God gives the land rain. The rain is not the land’s burden, but God’s. The land was created to use the rain to produce its fruit. This is a long established fact, and even school children understand the outward process. So, the new creation, Christians, are given a task. They were and are given the Holy Spirit to accomplish the crop that God desires. When they do this, they receive the blessings of God.
Task for Today: Check your crop time. How are you letting the Holy Spirit lead you? Is it into good works? If so, then you are definitely in line for a Godly blessing. This is the positive verse. Next up is the negative. You don’t want the negative in your walk. Follow the lead of the Spirit. Excel in the work He leads you to do.
