Psalm 148:1

“Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars! Praise him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens! (Psalm 148:3)

The psalmist refuses to give up. He wants everyone and everything to praise God. Why shouldn’t they? All of these things received their being and their glory from God. Why not praise Him for it? Wow, fire, hail, snow, and rain should praise God. Sea creatures and land creatures, birds, and even reptiles ought to praise God. Mountains, streams, hills, every kind of tree should be praising God.

Kings, too, should praise Him. Children, parents, and old men should praise God. His majesty is higher than the heavens over the earth. There is no other like God, and because of that, we should praise Him to depths and heights. Praise the Lord.

Task for Today: If you are not a wicked person, then you have no reason today to remain silent about the majesty of God. Our speech should resound to the world; God is good, and God is great, praise God. Praise Him you reader, praise Him.
