Psalm 84:10

“For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.” (Psalm 84:10)

Oh, that we could believe this statement. One day with God surpasses a thousand without Him. The smallest role in the kingdom of God is superior to the highest in service of Evil. Moses chose the small role God had for him rather than the power and glory of Egypt. Jesus asked the question, “What will a man give in exchange for his soul?”

What will a man give? We are astounded when we see the trades being made by our world today. A bank full of paper money is as comparable as the thousand days outside the courts of God. Owning half of a state is nothing compared with eternity in heaven. Power in Congress or the White House or in a local church is worthless when the power is gone. The days in God’s court are eternal.

Task for Today: Enjoy your day in the presence of God. It is far more valuable than a lifetime of with evil. Thank God today for the blessing He has given you to be a part of his kingdom, not only now but for all eternity.
