“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Rom. 5:8)
The following is a song I wrote some time ago. I used it as warm-up song when I play and sing. The words are a response to what Jesus did for me personally. This is Good Friday, the day Jesus was crucified. While you don’t have the tune you can say the words. They are worth repeating as I have found over the years.
What did He do? What did He do? What did He do for me?
He went to the tree. He went to the tree. He went to the tree for me.
Why did He go? Why did He go? Why did He go for me?
It was love don’t you see? It was love don’t you see? It was love don’t you see for me?
What does He want? What does He want? What does He want from me?
He wants my heart. He wants my heart. He wants my heart and me.
Task for Today: Whether you recite this song or just take time to consider the cross today please keep in mind that Easter is impossible without the death on the cross. Your sins were as responsible for His death as anyone’s no matter how “good” a person you are. He gave Himself and in return, He wants your heart. Please give it to Jesus today.
