Chapter 3, Verses 15-16 “This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.”
First of all, denial of the truth about our inner thinking is not wisdom from God. It doesn’t come from heaven or heavenly sources but is in fact pure earthly. This makes it unspiritual. It will function at the will and demand of the demonic world. We have no choice as to living in the world. It is where we are and we are bound here until Jesus comes again. That does not mean that we must be subject to the earth and its unspiritual demons.
Secondly, the results of earthly wisdom are obvious and widespread. Disorder and every vile practice. Earthly wisdom is responsible for the disruption caused by sin. All around us the result of earthly wisdom living is being manifest.
Task for Today: You can’t answer for everyone but you can answer for yourself. What wisdom are you using today to guide your life? Caught up in the world’s wisdom (earthly)? Living the blessed life? Which wisdom makes all the difference.
