Trinity

Trinity (Philip Dampier)

Faith

Faith is one of the Holy three

Along with hope and love.

Truth to set us free,

Wins favor from above.

Faith is powerful though so small,

As small as mustard seed.

It moves tall mountains at its call,

When righteous faithful plead.

Faith is the means of victory

Though Satan’s darts be hurled.

It helped the saints of history

To overcome the world.

Hope

Like a ship battered by the raging storm

Needs an anchor to ride out the sea,

So my soul, wild, tempest tossed,

Needs hope to hide me in the lea.

Steadfast and sure this hope secures

A place for my anxious heart to rest

And there at peace, hidden in His love,

I’m safe, held close to my savior’s breast.

Love

Love is a decision made by God

Even though the loved weren’t able

To make themselves worthy of the gift,

Are loved, yet were unlovable.

Love is a decision made in grace

To ransom all who have fallen

And make them perfect in His sight,

The gift, the only begotten.
