Malachi 3:6 “For I do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.”
God keeps His promises and that is a good thing for the children of Jacob because their behavior deserved a change. But, God keeps His word. Their sins were awful. So awful they deserved consummation. They called evil good and good evil. They questioned the righteousness of God, even to His justice. They wept because they realized that God was not accepting their offerings with favor. They did not keep God’s plan but expected Him to act on their behalf.
When you live a life free of fear (respect, awe, fear) of God you are putting yourself in a dangerous situation. How thankful we need to be that God keeps His word to us as far as our salvation in Jesus is concerned. But, make no mistake, God will also keep His word as to the fate of those who never repent and turn to His Son. God’s faithfulness to His promises is a two-edged sword. The hope of salvation for the obedient but the certainty of punishment to the disobedient.
Task for Today: Thank God today for His faithfulness. Thank God today for His unchanging nature. Thank God today for salvation through Jesus and be sure to claim your forgiveness through the blood of the Lamb. When God sees the blood He will pass over you. Thank Him today for that. Are you washed in the blood today?
