Micah 7:18 “Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in steadfast love.”

If not for the truth of this verse think what the message of all the prophets would be like. Men continue to sin against God generation after generation and generation after generation God extends His forgiveness. The stories of Judah and Israel are testimony to the evil of the nations and to the steadfast love of God. There is always the remnant isn’t there. Even in Sodom and Gomorrah God was willing to pass over the transgression if just a few could be found. Four were escorted out of the cities. Eight in the ark were rescued. God pardons and forgives and saves the righteous.

There is no God like our God. He forgives and in the end offers His love even when we don’t deserve it.  All of mankind have the steadfast love of God in the presence of Jesus. His blood washed away sins from every moment of time and every place in the world if those people turned to God in faith and obedience. No other god saves like Jehovah. No other god forgives like Jehovah and no other god delights in steadfast love. All other gods need to be appeased by men but Jehovah was appeased by Himself.

Task for Today: Which God do you worship today? Has He forgiven your iniquity and passed over your transgressions? Have you said with Joshua “As for me and my house we will serve Jehovah?” You have no righteousness but God will give you His if you will surrender to Him. Only then can you know the steadfast love.
