“…that no one is sexually immoral or unholy like Esau, who sold his birthright for a single meal.”
This is a continuation of what can happen when you fail to live under grace. If we live under grace, we will live by the Spirit. Things like sexual immorality and distaining the gifts of God are not a product of the Holy Spirit. When a person enters baptism, they do so understanding that the old way of living is about to die. When a person is baptized, they understand that they are now dead to the world of sin. When a person is baptized, they know they have been raised a new creation. The old man is gone, and the new man is inhabited by the Spirit of the Living God. Of a truth, it is no longer I, but Christ living in me.
If one refuses the gift of Jesus, there remains no other means of salvation. Once Esau gave up the blessing, he could not get it back. If you leave this world having rejected the grace of God and its gift of salvation, there is no other means of being saved. There is no repentance in the grave. The grace of God is offered now and must be accepted in this life. It is the only remedy for sin.
Task for Today: You control your behavior. Today you are in charge of what you do and don’t do. You are the one who accepts or rejects the grace of God. Heaven or hell is your decision. God has already decided that He wants you there with Him. He calls, will you answer?
