Hebrews 11:36, 37

“Others suffered mocking and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were killed with the sword. They went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, mistreated—”

The people who truly believed in God and in His promise persevered through all manner of difficulties. The prize they sought was of higher value than the awful treatment they endured. What kept them going, do you think? Was it not faith? Faith that could move mountains and allow a person to walk into the arena to face lions and swords singing praises to God.

Task for Today. Think about this passage as you go through the difficult parts of the day. Compare these verses with your own obstacles. Do you complain? Do you moan? Do you point the finger at God? Do you question His word, His promise? Ask for stronger faith. Remember that faith comes by hearing the word of God. Have little faith? Read more.
