Hebrews 10:22

“…let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled cleaned from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”

Wow! If all these perquisites involved in the ‘therefore’ are positive for us, we can draw near to God. God has made a new covenant. He put His will inside us rather than on stone tablets and rolls of parchment. He has written His words on our hearts. He has promised to no longer count our sins against us if we’ve been washed in the blood of His Son. He offered His Son as a one time sacrifice for our sins, and we can be totally pure in His sight. Because of that blood, we are confident in our approach to God. We are comfortable in the new way because it is living in its nature, providing life eternal compared to the old way of death. He has provided us a High Priest who could and did give us permanent forgiveness and perfected us so that we would be able to encounter God in a close and personal way.

Results are lovely and unbelieving to those who are stuck in the old covenant religion. Notice, our hearts have been made true and clean, unlike those of Moses’ day. Notice, our consciousness of unforgiven sins is gone. Notice we have been washed in pure water. What makes the water pure? Is it us, or is it the blood of Jesus? When we are washed in baptism, like the apostle Paul, our sins are washed away, and we come forth pure in the sight of God.

Task for Today: Draw near to God. Acknowledge His presence in your heart and mind via the Spirit. Do not be afraid to come into the presence of God because you are His purified and perfected child. If your heart and body and been cleansed by the water and the blood, that is.
