“For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf.”
So we see that the entire Old Testament system was merely a mock-up of what the ‘real thing’ would be like. Everything about it was constructed by the hands of men. God watched and gave directions, but He was not the builder, nor did He become personally involved in the arrangements or utilization of the things.
Men made the materials, constructed the tent, killed the animals, and offered the sacrifice. Not so the new covenant with its new ‘real’ things. Heaven is built by God and not one human hand has been involved in its construction. It is not a temporary building but one that is everlasting. The one who offers the sacrifice in the true Holy of Holies is not mortal either. It is the resurrected One who lives forever. The one who was and is God. The blood this priest takes to the throne of God is not from animals nor from a sinful human but the blood of the sinless Son of God.
Task for Today: Put your faith in Jesus. Be washed in His blood. Accept His act on your behalf. Follow His instructions that His blood may intercede for you. Believe, repent, and be baptized that your sins may be forgiven.
