Psalm 94:7

“And they say, ‘The Lord does not see; the God of Jacob does not perceive.” (Psalm 94:7)

The wicked of the world think God is deaf and blind to their sins. Because justice is delayed, they assume that it isn’t coming. They crush God’s children and think God doesn’t notice. They afflict God’s children as if God didn’t exist. God must not be paying attention, the wicked people say. He’s not listening and doesn’t care.

Since God made men’s ears that means that He can hear. He created men’s eyes as well, and that means He sees. The psalmist believes God can read men’s minds. The psalmist expects God to eventually bring vengeance upon those wicked ones. He makes a great declaration of faith in verse 17, “If the Lord had not been my help, my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence.” The conclusion the psalmist reaches is scary if you are a part of the wicked who believe that God is not paying attention. He says, “…the Lord our God will wipe them out.”

Task for Today: Don’t worry about the prosperity of the wicked or waste a minute wondering why they get away with their wickedness. Don’t think they have it made because nothing is happening to them at the moment. Be thankful that you are a part of the righteous children of God because God will surely “wipe them out.”
