“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

The book of Joshua doesn’t tell us that this great hero was afraid or that he felt inadequate to the task before him but there must have been a reason that God told him to be strong and courageous twice. Whether he knew it or not Joshua was about to face the Dark Side. Satan was not about to let God’s people just walk in and take over the promised land without any opposition from him. No one, not even Moses or Joshua escapes the forces of evil.

Make no mistake, the Dark Side is real and the evil ruler of the Dark Side is intent on pulling you over and engulfing you in darkness. The pull of Dark Side is strong and it is also terrifying to those who walk in the light of God’s Force. To withstand this powerful urge and pull the Christian, like Josuah, must be strong. The Christian must not tremble or give up.

The Christian, in order to win, must be strong and courageous. Strong in the Lord of Hosts putting on his Dark Side Defensive armor. Courageous enough to stand against the Darth Vaders of the Dark Side. These things are possible for the Christian because the Light Side stands beside him. God promised to be with Joshua wherever he went. Jesus has promised to be with the Christians always.

Task for Today: Be strong in your faith. Be courageous in your stand for truth. Know that Jesus is ever with you and will be your help with the Dark Side threatens. Your book, the Bible is the strongest lightsaber in the world.
