“Thou who rulest wind and water, stand by me.”

Irma is a dangerous storm and millions are in its path. We have been praying for those in its path. Yesterday we found out that two of our grandchildren are directly in its path. Puts a more urgent need in the prayer. Dangerous storm or not, God still rules wind and water.

Matt 8:26-27
Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm.  The men were amazed, and said, “What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?” NASU

It is true, the winds and sea obey him. The whole universe obeys him. Storms are a part of life but God is the perfect shelter from those storms.

Ps 107:28-31
Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
And He brought them out of their distresses.
He caused the storm to be still,
So that the waves of the sea were hushed.
Then they were glad because they were quiet,
So He guided them to their desired haven.
Let them give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness,
And for His wonders to the sons of men!
NASU

Ps 55:4-8
My heart is in anguish within me,
And the terrors of death have fallen upon me.
Fear and trembling come upon me,
And horror has overwhelmed me.
I said, “Oh, that I had wings like a dove!
I would fly away and be at rest.
“Behold, I would wander far away,
I would lodge in the wilderness. Selah.
“I would hasten to my place of refuge
From the stormy wind and tempest.”
NASU

“A mighty Fortress is our God, A bulwark never failing: Our helper he amid the flood”

If it’s not asking too much of my blog readers would you join me in ardent prayer that God will bring all through this storm? A special prayer for our grandchildren would be appreciated.
