The Trinity

The Trinity

Ephesians 1

In the first chapter of the Ephesian letter Paul explains the roles of the Trinity in the New Testament Church.

The Father

In verses four and five we learn the Father chose us to be holy and blameless that through love He would adopt us as sons in Jesus Christ. In verses eight and nine, the Father bestows wisdom and knowledge of His will. Verse eleven tells us the Father has given us an inheritance and in verse twelve we learn we are to be the praise of His glory in Christ.

The Son

In verse seven, we learn that the Son offers redemption and forgiveness through God’s grace. The Son brings salvation. In verse ten, the Son provides the means to bring all of God’s plans together both on earth and in heaven. The Son is God’s plan for the fullness of all things. There is no other name by which we can be saved other than the name of the Son of God.

The Holy Spirit

In verse thirteen The Holy Spirit is responsible for sealing our new relationship with God through the Son. In verse fourteen the Holy Spirit is God’s promise to keep us in covenant relationship with God until the final day.

Task for Today: Study these passages today until the concept of the Trinity is clear to you. God is one but in three ways He surrounds you till this life is over. Work and interact with the Trinity in the ways Paul presents Him.
