Comments on James

Chapter 2, Verse 11-12 “For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty.”

We got it James. Live by the law you will be judged by. Condense the law into its briefest form. Jesus did that in Matthew 22:37-40. James is strongly suggesting that we live by that law of love and liberty. It was God who set the tone, wasn’t it, when He gave Jesus? “So loved the world.”

Task for Today: Check your speech and your behavior towards others. Channel both into the judgment of the law of liberty. James is not kidding. Cleanse your heart of ANY ill feelings towards others. Remember the difference between the sheep and the goats in Matthew 25? The law of love/liberty.
