Comments on Verses from Prophets

Jeremiah 5:22 “Do you not fear me? Declares the LORD. Do you not tremble before me? I placed the sand as the boundary for the sea, a perpetual barrier that it cannot pass; though the waves toss, they cannot prevail; though they roar, they cannot pass over it.”

Obviously neither Israel nor Judah held any real fear of God until He came upon them. They would when He did though. By-the-way that’s a prediction for the end. Isaiah talks about it and so does Luke and Revelation. “…calling to the mountains and rocks, ‘Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb…’” Better to tremble now than later. Those people ignored God in spite of all He had done for them and among them. They had a history of seeing His punishment and chastisement and were non the better for having seen it. God says to them through Jeremiah, “Hear this, O foolish and senseless people, who have eyes, but see not, who have ears, but hear not,” (5:21).

Things had not changed much when the Messiah arrived in Judah. Over and over, Jesus called upon them to see and listen but they would not. Not much has changed two thousand years later. Even those who call themselves scientist ignore the words of God. All over the globe they are warning us that the ocean will do exactly what God said it can’t do. According to their theory, the seas will cross over the boundary of sand and submerge the land. Who do you believe?

Task for Today: Trust in God and not in the wisdom (false) of man. Deceivers are not new but none have been able to reverse God’s words yet. Trust the Word of God and not the words of humans. The only climate change you should fear is the one at the end. It will bring fervent heat, not rising oceans. Remember that this is God’s world. He created it and sustains it.
