Comments on Verses from Prophets

Isaiah 62:12 “And they shall be called The Holy People, The Redeemed of the LORD; and you shall be called Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken.”

Here is the result of the good news, the work of the messiah. Interesting, isn’t it that Paul’s favorite term for “Christians” is the name “The Holy People.” We know it as “Saints.” In Revelation, they are referred to as the Redeemed. The Holy People were called or sought out by God. All were called, but not all heard the report as the prophet said.

Here are the people to who God has sent a savior. Jesus came into the world to bring salvation. He said, “I have come that you might have life…” and He meant salvation of your souls. His reward was with Him when He came, and He changed everything with His good news. He sowed the good news, and He shall return to gather the harvest. The harvest is the Holy People, the Redeemed of the LORD.

Task for Today: Are you a part of the Holy People? Have you been redeemed? You have been sought but have you answered the call? There is a choice given to all humanity from the beginning of time. You can choose salvation, or you can choose damnation. God calls you to salvation; that is the good news. The people of Nazareth said no. What do you say?
