Isaiah 30:18 “Therefore the LORD waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.”
What an awesome revelation. What a marvelous announcement. What a splendid statement about God and His relationship with humankind. God not only is gracious but is waiting for just the opportunity to show us. When we cry out, God is gracious and answers us. The prophet goes on to talk about some of the ways that God will bless them with His graciousness and mercy.
Just so, He will bless us. We often take the blessings of God and ascribe them to something else, like Mother Nature, or natural effects, or science, or maybe just plain old luck. What a shame to live in a shower of blessings and not realize they are the result of a God who waits to be gracious and exalts in mercy. Can we be so blind to His care for us? In this same chapter, Isaiah tells the people that they will have a song and gladness of heart.
Task for Today: Look around and see the work of God. Feel His presence in your heart and let loose with the song He gives. Don’t be afraid to claim the blessings He is sending your way but make sure to give Him the credit. Attend to the Lord because those who do are blessed.
