“Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.”
While it is true that marriage is an earthly contract and doesn’t extend into heaven, that doesn’t mean that God views the agreement lightly. God’s point of view is that all contracts should be honored. That is how God treats the contracts or agreements He makes. Marriage is God-ordained. In the beginning, God designated that the marriage contract be between a man and a woman. There is no evidence that God ever made a change in that relationship.
One of the tenants of that contractual relationship is that there would exist no sexual relations by either party outside of the marriage. To pursue such relations is to defile the marriage bed in the words of our writer. To participate in sexual relations outside the bond of marriage is adultery, which is immoral. Sexual relations before marriage is also a violation of God’s sexual conduct. Sexual relations with the same sex is also a violation of God’s sexual conduct.
Task for Today: Keep yourself sexually pure. Do not violate God’s laws dealing with marriage and marital relationships. Sexual sins are sins of the flesh and demonstrate a fleshly life rather than a spiritual one.
