Hebrews 9:12

“…he entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.”

The author now gives us the outcome of the changed priesthood. Christ, as the new high priest was not limited as, were the Aaronic priests. They had to enter the holy places every year; He entered one time and that one entrance was sufficient for all of man’s time on the earth. They had no suitable sacrifice but brought the blood of goats and bull calves to offer. The scope of those sacrifices was limited both in power and in time. Christ, on the other hand, took His own blood, the blood of the Son of God and offered it at the mercy seat of God. That blood appeased the wrath of God for all earthly time and for every human being, Hebrew or not.

And what was the result of this offering? It provided eternal forgiveness. There is no longer a continual remembrance of sin. All those who enter into the rest of God through Jesus the Christ have access to that forgiveness.

Task for Today: Make sure His blood has become your “blood offering.” Have you been baptized into the body of Christ? His blood will cleanse you of your sins and He will raise you up to newness of life. If you are a part of the kingdom then praise God for His great gift of the blood of His Son.
