Hebrews 6:12

“So that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”

More of the same really. Sluggish? Does he mean lazy or lackadaisical? Can the Christian lose his or her pep? Can the believers slow down and ease off? Sure, all those things can happen. We know about complacency, don’t we? We’ve seen it up close and personal. Sometimes it takes the form of neglect, and sometimes we see it in procrastination.

We have the opportunity to imitate faithful and steadfast believers. They are around us, and we know who they are. Those who have remained faithful in spite of the obstacles that have been put in their path, they show the way. These kinds of people we should be following. These are the people we should be associating with. One of the greatest arguments for church attendance is in this verse. If you don’t spend time with these people, you are not likely to imitate them.

Task for Today: Worship with the saints every time you can. Find those in your fellowship that are exercising their faith. Imitate them. Spend time with them. Listen to them and follow their lead.
