Hebrews 4:16

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Based on the previous verses, we should have confidence in our right to come before God. Our high priest has gone into heaven to make that approach possible. Not only has He appeared in heaven He is also empathic to our plight having suffered as we do. Due to these two points, we can step right up in our request for grace from God. We also need not be ashamed to ask for His mercy, which our priest has acquired for us.

It is obvious that we will have times of need, and we can each give witness to that fact. But because of our great high priest, we need not face those terrible times alone and helpless. God is our helper, and we have every right to that help. Think about it for a moment. Not only can we come before God to ask for assistance, but we can do so with absolute confidence that He will look favorably on our request. We are brothers of the high priest, and He has paved the way for us.

Task for Today: Don’t be afraid to ask God for help. Don’t be embarrassed either. As His child, you can go to Him for any time you are in need. Today, tell God what your need is and do so knowing He will listen and act.
