Living With the Holy Spirit
Suppose you received a notice that the president of the United States of America was coming to your house in the next few days. In addition, the President desires to stay a few days with you. Would you leave everything as it was inside and out or would you make some changes? Would you eat the same things, drink the same things, say the same things and do the same things or would some of your behavior change during his stay?
Suppose you received a notice that the Son of God was coming to your house in the next few days and staying for a week. Same questions as for the President? Be honest with yourself. Would you read your current book out loud to Him? Would you share your social feeds with Him? Would you tell Him the latest joke or would you need to change your language?
Not going to happen you say. Whew! The President will stay in Washington and Jesus will stay in heaven and we can go on as before. Wrong! If you are a baptized, born-again child of God then God is already in your house living with you. You, personally, provide housing for the Holy Spirit. He is the comforter sent by Jesus, the gift of God to the believer. Everything you might have thought of changing is already bare before His eyes. He knows your thoughts, the intents of your heart. Yes, He is aware of every aspect of your life and He communicates with God the Father.
Task for Today: Repeat after me: ‘God lives in my house, both my body and my mind.’ Nothing is hidden from Him. This is a good thing not a bad thing. A good thing because He can help you fix anything that is wrong in your life and will. Pray for His help.
