Chapter 3, Verse 11 “…that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.”

Is Paul questioning his chances of resurrection from the dead? I think not. More likely he is expressing his desire to win through whatever plan God has ahead of him. He is sure of his goal and his eyes are on the goal. Being with Jesus is Paul’s greatest desire. Whether it was imminent or down the road was not material to him. Winning the race, however short or long was all that mattered. Paul was ready to go quietly or in the midst of fray, whichever God chose for him. His destination was the paramount thing rather than the road on the way.

Task for Today: Where are your eyes today? Are they on the destination or the avenue? Are you seeking the goal of the higher calling, the resurrection of the righteous? Is your goal heaven or is it on the vista along the way? Look neither left nor right and certainly not behind. See the goal and strive towards it. Let nothing take your eyes off God. There is a light that leads to the gates. Walk in the light as He is in the light.
