Comments on Philippians

Chapter 2, Verse 10 “…so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,”

The completeness of the Lord’s authority and reign are expressed by bringing in the entire creation to subjection. Every knee will recognize Him as Lord. Paul does a neat substitution of Isaiah of 45:23. “…To me every knee shall bow and every tongue shall swear allegiance.” Paul just switches ‘to me’ and puts in Lord Jesus. The Lord of Isaiah 45:18 is the same Lord of Philippians 2:10.

This dominant glorification covers heaven and earth and the previous dead. From Adam to the last man, all angels, and all demons, the created ones will recognize Jesus as Lord. “For I am God, and there is no other.” (Isaiah 45:22)

Task for Today. Get ahead of the game. Bow your knee now. Name Him as your Lord and Savior. Confess that He is God and there is no other. No longer view Him as dead man on a cross but see Him as He is; alive and in universal power. He is no longer a weak man unable to carry His cross. He is the ruler and sustainer of the universe.
