Hebrews 2:8

“…putting everything in subjection under his feet. Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control. At present, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him.”

The last of the psalm quote. Everything is subject to Jesus. Nothing is missing; nothing is outside of Jesus control, and that includes the big one, death. True, from our earthly, material view things still seem out of control, but that doesn’t mean that Jesus is not in charge. So many of the miraculous works of Jesus demonstrated that He was in control of everything and that included the Devil.

Here on the earth, we see as in darkness and cannot perceive what is outside our human sight. Rest assured when Jesus went back to the throne room He took control of the entire creation. He was there at the beginning of it all, and He will supervise the demise of it all. Only the children of God will survive the desolation coming on the universe from the One who controls all.

Task for Today: Make sure you are among the children of God. How do you become His child? Through the process of the new birth. You must crucify the old self, bury it in baptism, arise to walk as a child of God via the process of adoption. Have you done that? If you want to be His child, you must experience His new generation which occurs in baptism. Like Paul was told, “Why wait, arise and be baptized.”
