But the Lord is faithful.

Those are comforting words to a child of God. Especially a child of God who is daily facing an evil world. Paul says there are wicked and evil people because not everyone has faith. We know this to be true. Sometimes when we watch TV or read the newspaper we become disheartened with all the evil we see and read about. I won’t take time and space to name them here but all of you who are believers know what I am talking about.

So, it is comforting to know that our Lord is faithful to us and Paul says that means two things. One: he will strengthen us. Two: he will protect us from the evil one.

The devil is scary and so is the wickedness but we are strengthened by the one who has defeated him. Sure, he walks around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour but his fangs are useless against us because we are protected from lions. Check out the story of Daniel for proof.

The world is real and we must guard against it but keep in mind that God is real as well. He has overcome the world and we overcome through him.

Walk today in the knowledge that the lion’s mouth is closed.
